about

After recording voice and guitar i gave this track over to my producer Fred Gillen Jr. Listen to what he did with it. Electric guitar with speaker tremolo, bass, voice harmonies. Astonishing.

My homage to John Prine, Angel From Montgomery.

Lyrics:

Been swatting mosquitos
Looking at starlight
The clouds been a-movin
And the moon just appeared

Where did it come from
It just keeps arizin
Didn't see it comin
Now it's hanging real near

(Chorus)
Way down the shoreline
Lights on the farside
Have their own stories
For someone to hear

But here on the outside
There ain't much to go by
Just a big orange moon
Shinin down on the pier

(Verse)

Now the stars are arizin
The clouds theyre a movin
And the moon it's a shinin
And you're so far from here

Can't remember the last time
You were as close by
But I remember you comin
And your face was so clear

(Chorus)

Way down the shoreline
Lights on the farside
Have their own stories
For someone to hear

But here on the outside
There ain't much to go by
Just a big orange moon
Shinin down on the pier

(Verse)

Can't remember the last time
You were as close by
Your eyes like moonlight
Shinin down on me here

But here on the outside
There ain't much to go by
Just a big orange moon
Shining down on me here

(repeat)

about

Stephen Scholle Hartsdale, New York

Picked up guitar in 1967. Began writing songs in 09 after a breakup. TY to Fred Gillen, Burr Johnson, Peter Calo and the Ashokan music community for supporting my passion. I write from the chord voicings and I write from the voice inside. Some songs channel moments. Sometimes words just sound good. I like to let the song speak and I like to work with others on that.
